Holm Hill, the community owned land currently features in SPENs preferred proposals for the planned Cross Border Transmission route.  Trustees were first made aware of this on Sept 16^th via various social media platforms, no correspondence regarding their intentions was shared with the Trust.

The proposals have caused much concern to Trustees and the wider community as proposals directly impact Newcastleton’s long term development strategy which incorporates active leisure activities and pursuits as part of our sustainable growth strategy.

NDCT Trustees commissioned a Landscape & Visual overview of the preferred route to help demystify the proposal and to help us provide a more informed view of the alternatives and the overall impact this proposal as presented might have.

This report along with an overview reinforcing NDCT’s position was submitted to SPEN on Dec 18^th.

NDCT welcomes discussion on its findings at the AGM now planned for Jan 15^th.
