Today Newcastleton & District Community Trust, acting as the community anchor organisation, announces the launch of the Newcastleton & District Hardship Fund. This has been created with the support and help of the Newcastleton & District Community Council and Newcastleton’s Resilience Leader Team.
Since COV1D 19 and the flooding, we have seen directly the hardships that many of you have suffered and how much this has all impacted on daily lives. We know that many still await pay-outs from insurance assessors and that some remain in temporary accommodation for much longer than anticipated because of the lockdown and lack of supply materials delaying progress on home repairs. This is tough and hugely costly with unforeseen costs now being incurred by households.
